Audi India has made its first launch for the year 2022. Audi is starting off this new year with the launch of the much-awaited 2022 Audi Q7 facelift. Moreover, The Q7 will come to India in two different variants Premium Plus and Technology. The former is priced at ₹79.99 lakh while the Latter comes at a price of ₹88.33 lakhs.

To be noted, these are introductory prices and there might be a slight hike in the future. The Q7 was discontinued a few years back due to the newly imposed BS6 emission Norms. However, the new variant makes its way to India as a petrol-only model and gets significant exterior and interior updates. Let’s take a deeper look to see what has changed in the Audi Q7. 

Exterior Styling

The Q7 comes with a modern and bold design styling to blend in perfectly with Audi’s lineup. At the front, the SUV gets an octagonal grille with chrome borders and vertical slats. The front headlamps are edgy and come with Audi’s signature LED daytime running lamps. The bumper is now large and has massive air vents on the sides.

The estate look from the predecessor is retained and is clearly visible from the side profile. Other highlights of the profile are chrome window lining and bold 5-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets a new set of tail lamps. The new Q7 is available in five different colour schemes – Carrara White, Mythos Black, Navarra Blue, Samurai Grey, and Floret Silver.

The new Q7 facelift comes with many interior styling changes to fit in well in the category of luxury SUVs. The front center console gets 2 large touchscreens- a 10.1-inch infotainment system and 8.6-inch climate control. Moreover, the car also gets a fully digital instrument cluster with Audi’s second-generation ‘Virtual Cockpit’. Furthermore, the SUV comes in a 7-seat layout, and the Gloss black and brushed aluminium trims in the interior create a premium feel in the interior. 

Other features include four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, 30-color ambient lighting, electrically foldable third-row seats, powered front seats with memory function, and an optional rear-seat entertainment package.

The German comes equipped with top-notch safety features. The Q7 gets eight airbags, Park Assist Plus with 360 degrees 3D surround camera, ESC, lane-keep assist with steering intervention, adaptive windscreen wipers, etc.

2022 Audi Q7 facelift: Powertrain

The new model gets its power from a 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6 petrol engine that can generate 340PS of power and 500Nm of peak torque. The engine will come with an integrated 48V mild-hybrid system. The transmission setup will include An 8-speed automatic gearbox with Audi’s Quattro AWD system that comes as standard. Audi claims that this motor can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 5.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 250kmph. 

The Q7 facelift will rival the likes of SUVs such as the BMW X5, Volvo XC90, and Mercedes-Benz GLE. Also, only the Volvo XC90 gets a 7-seat configuration among the rivals.
