2022 Ford Everest spied: will come to India as a CBU model

2022 Ford Everest

Ford has been testing the new generation of 2022 Everest also known as the Endeavor in India. The Everest is a sister model to the newly unveiled Ford Ranger, and the SUV is set to make its public debut next year before it goes on sale in international markets.

The SUV was recently spied on during testing in Thailand, providing a clear picture of the front profile of Everest. Additionally, Ford recently announced a significant investment to modernize its manufacturing facility in Thailand. This plant will be a hub for the production of the new-gen Everest and Ranger.

2022 Ford Everest: Exterior details

The images reveal the front grille and headlamps of the upcoming 2022 Everest. The overall styling is boxy and rugged like the previous models. The SUV gets a 3D grille with a horizontal lining extending towards the headlamps. The C- shaped headlamps come with LED DRL. The 3-row seating creates a longer look to the side profile of the vehicle. Furthermore, next-gen Everest gets a stronger shoulder line. However, the window line remains similar to the previous generation model.

The images do not reveal any information about the rear of the SUV. Although, the test mules reveal a raked tailgate and LED styling elements on the tail-lights.

2022 Ford Everest: Interior

The images do not reveal any information about the interior styling of the upcoming Everest. However, we believe that Everest will feature a centre-mounted touch screen infotainment system with all the advanced connectivity options. We also expect the car to come with other features such as dual-zone climate control, connected car tech features, a digital instrument console, and a large panoramic sunroof. Safety features might include ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).

Powertrain

Under the hood, the global version of the 2022 Ford Everest will come with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder twin-turbo EcoBlue diesel motor and a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine. The former will produce 210bhp with 500Nm of torque, while the latter can generate 254bhp and 600Nm of peak torque. All variants will get a 10-speed automatic gearbox. However, in India, the SUV will feature the same 2.0L single-turbo diesel engine producing 168bh and 420Nm of torque.

We are expecting the 2022 Everest (Endeavor) to make its way to India as a CBU model since Ford has stopped production of its vehicles in India. The Endeavor will be another addition to Ford’s CBU-only line-up in India. The SUV will accompany the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E.
