Jeep had to discontinue the Compass Trailhawk when the BS6 norms were enforced in India. They continued to sell the regular Compass and was updated with a minor facelift in 2021. Now, Jeep wants to bring back the Compass Trailhawk Facelift with the new look we saw in the 2021 Compass.
The confirmation comes from their official website, where you can see the Compass Trailhawk Facelift listed in their lineup. There has been no official date for the launch, but we expect it to happen in the coming weeks. So, What has been improved? Let’s dive in and find out.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk Pricing
The starting price of the Jeep Compass is ₹17.79 lakh for the base variant and ₹29.34 lakh for the Model-S top trim. As before, the Trailhawk facelift will cost more than this but the exact price is yet to be determined.
The Jeep Compass in India competes against the Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta. Although, the Compass is the costliest among them.
2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Engine
Like the regular Compass, the Trailhawk will also use the same 2.0-litre diesel motor. It pushes a total of 168 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque through the 9-speed automatic transmission. The 4X4 drivetrain is optional in the regular Compass, Trailhawk gets it as standard. Additionally Jeep will also include their SelecTerrain with Sand/Mud, Snow and Auto drive modes.
2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Exterior Styling
There is a very subtle difference in the exterior between the Compass and the Compass Trailhawk. The slightly different skid plate design can be seen in the Trailhawk giving it a better approach and departure angles. The blacked-out front grille and the new alloy wheels give the Trailhawk a rugged off-roader look.
Jeep has also given the Trailhawk badge on the tailgate for the SUV. The rear taillights are identical to the standard Compass, with a mildly redesigned rear bumper.
Dimensionally the Trilahawk is similar to the Compass. It has the same length, width and wheelbase, but the height is increased for better ground clearance. This adds to the off-roading capabilities of the SUV.
2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Interior Styling
The interior however is very similar to the standard Compass. But Jeep includes new graphics and dual-tone treatment inside the Trailhawk. A red colour stitching can be seen inside the cabin with trailhawk badge stitched on the front seats. They also use premium leather and cloth for the seats.
The feature list in the SUV goes like this: a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, keyless entry, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist and more.
Launch details
We expect Jeep to launch the Trailhawk in March 2022 followed by their most anticipated launch of the year, the Meridian SUV. This will be their first 7-seter SUV in India which they hope to do wonders. Jeep has also planned to introduce more of their SUV by the end of 2022.
