With its launch in 2019, the Kia Seltos has been one of the best-performing SUVs instantly in India. The company is now ready to renew it and the 2022 Kia Seltos will come with an optional panoramic roof along with other new variants. The launch of the brand new Seltos is a much-awaited affair for the year and is likely to come in the middle of 2022. Possibly before the launch of the sibling Hyundai Creta facelift.
Sublime facelift for Seltos
In the midsize SUV segment, the current Kia Seltos only has a single-pane electric sunroof, whereas most of their rivals have furnished panoramic sunroofs. The MG Astor SUV and the new Hyundai Creta are examples of those models with a panoramic sunroof. The new panoramic sunroof could be the main feature of the 2022 Kia Seltos.
New design modifications such as a revamped front gate, bumper magazines, and new alloys are all part of the new and improved Seltos. The Seltos cabin will also have a new colour template which adds to the wonderful facelift for Seltos. The refurbished SUV is likely to be released into the market by mid-2022.
Features
The new Kia Seltos is also most likely to have the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), however, it is mostly present in top models. Both competitors, Hyundai and MG Astor already offer a wide range of ADAS components. Another interesting point is that Kia’s upcoming seven-seat MPV (the Carens) is going to be launched without a panoramic sunroof in any of its variants. It will get only a single-pane sunroof on top models in turn bucking the new trend.
2022 Kia Seltos: Engine and transmission
Under the hood, the Kia Seltos face-lift must remain mechanically unchanged. It will have the same three engine options – a 115hp naturally aspirated 1.5L petrol, a 140hp turbocharged 1.4L petrol, and a 115hp, 1.5L turbo diesel. Each engine will get both manual and automatic gearbox options.
The launch of the first Kia Seltos was a huge success in the market. It was the brand’s first car model and it underwent a long waiting period. Since then, the market has grown, with the launch of different cars from different brands. As of now, it competes against the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV300 and MG Astor.
