Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new 2022 Baleno in India. It comes with the tagline “Tech Goes Bold”. Maruti has made significant styling changes and tech upgrades to the Baleno to make it even more appealing to its spontaneous and youthful customers. Moreover, bookings for the new Baleno have already begun and the cars will start rolling out soon. More details about the all-new Baleno are given below. 

 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Pricing

The new Baleno comes with a base price of Rs.6.35 lakh and goes north till Rs.9.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Also, Maruti has now included the Baleno under its monthly subscription program. The Baleno can be owned at a monthly subscription fee of Rs.13,999/-. This fee includes vehicle registration, insurance, roadside assistance, and insurance. 

Furthermore, the Baleno comes in four different trims ( Alpha, Zeta, Delta, Sigma) with both automatic and manual transmission setups.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Powertrain

Under the hood, the 2022 Baleno features a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder DualJet K12N petrol engine. This engine can generate 90 hp and 113 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the hatchback is available in both 5-speed manual or AMT automatic gearbox. Maruti claims the manual variants have a fuel efficiency of 22.35 kmpl, and the AMT variant has an efficiency of 22.94 kmpl. The Baleno also gets a new suspension setup, a hydraulic clutch system for better gear shifting, and 14- inch disc brakes.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Interior and Tech

Inside the cabin, the Baleno gets a new dashboard with a three-layer sculpted design. A large 9.0-inch Smartplay infotainment system dominates the dashboard. This floating touchscreen supports connectivity features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and ‘Suzuki Connect’. The vehicle can be controlled via smartphone or smartwatch using the Suzuki Connect app. The steering wheel is similar to one featured in the new Maruti Swift. Also, the front seats get a sculpted design and wraparound support to amp the comfort factor.

The Baleno shares many features with the S-Cross including the climate controls and instrument cluster. The segment-first heads-up display unit is behind the steering wheel. This unit displays vital information including speed, rev, fuel efficiency, etc. to enhance safety by helping the driver keep their eyes on the road. Other features include tilt and telescopic steering, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, and a surround sound system powered by an Arkamys.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Exterior Styling

Maruti calls its new design philosophy ‘Crafted Futurism’. This design styling has three pillars: create next expression, innovate next technology and inspire next experience. The new 2022 Baleno is the first model in the Nexa lineup to feature the new design philosophy. The new design and development of the Baleno were based on the information received from user feedback and extensive user research. 

At the front, The Baleno features the new long and bold ‘NEXWave’ grille with chrome lining that extends towards the new LED headlamps. The car features Maruti’s new signature LED daytime running lights and the clamshell bonnet is now a little flatter. Significant changes were made to the bumper and fog lamp housings as well. Updates in the side profile include 16-inch alloy wheels, stronger shoulders, and chrome window lining. At the rear, the new C-shaped LED taillights get Maruti’s signature DRLs. The tail lamp units extend towards the tailgate. Furthermore, there is a chrome trim under the rear windshield and the rear bumper gets a sculpted design styling.

Additionally, the all-new Baleno is available in six colour variants. These include Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red Nexa Blue, and Luxe Beige.
