Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the launch of the all-new Maybach S-class in India. The launch event will be held on 3rd March 2022. The Maybach is based on the seventh-gen S-Class. Moreover, the Maybach S-Class will come in two trims, S580 and S680. Mercedes-Benz is currently selling the locally manufactured S-Class in India at a base price of ₹1.57 crore (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Maybach S-Class gets two engine variants. The first one is a 4.0-litre V8 turbocharged petrol engine in integration with a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. This motor powers the S580 while the S680 will feature a 6.0-litre V12 turbocharged petrol engine.
Both motors will come integrated with a nine-speed automatic transmission setup while power is driven to the rear wheels only. The superior variant produces 612 hp and sprints from 0-100 KMPH in just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 250 KMPH.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Interior and Tech
Inside the cabin, the Maybach S-Class gets a premium and luxurious cabin. The Maybach moniker surely elevates the level of luxury in the S-Class. The upcoming model gets two individual first-class-style seats for the rear passengers. And much more convenient features like a refrigerator, individual air-con controls, power seats with massage and recline function, two touchscreens, and heat/cool cup holders. Moreover, the Maybach S-Class’s cabin is identical to the standard S.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Exterior Styling
The new Maybach S-Class is 180 mm longer than the standard S-Class Mercedes-Benz has to offer. This makes it the longest production car by the brand. The overall design styling has the Maybach aura. Moreover, the Maybach S-Class gets the signature chrome radiator grille, window trim, front bumper, and alloy wheels.
