Skoda India’s 2022 Skoda Kodiaq has been sold out within just 20 days of its launch. Furthermore, the entire production for the year 2022 has been sold out. The Kodiaq comes to India as an import through the CKD route. Assembling is done at Skoda’s Aurangabad plant. The customers who purchased the first batch of 1200 units will have to wait for 4 months. However, the automaker has not yet mentioned anything regarding the arrival of the next batch in the Indian market.
2022 Skoda Kodiaq: Highlights
Kodiaq features a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which integrates to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Moreover, this engine can generate a maximum power output of 190 hp and 320 Nm of peak torque. Skoda claims the 2022 Kodiaq can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 7.8 seconds.
The exterior updates in Kodiaq include an updated hexagonal grille with a chrome border, and crystalline LED headlights. At the rear, the SUV gets indicators with the Skoda branding. Furthermore, the dual-tone alloy wheels dominate the side profile.
Inside the cabin, Kodiaq gets a black and beige dual-tone theme. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system dominates the dashboard. This system supports inbuilt navigation and modern wireless connectivity. Furthermore, other features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker Canton sound system on the doors, three zones automatic climate control system, ventilated front seats with cooling and heating functionality, an electrically operated panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.
The prices for the Kodiaq’s Style variant start at ₹35.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sportline version comes at a price of ₹36.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The high-end Laurin & Klement variant is priced at ₹38.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Skoda Kodiaq is a brilliant midsize SUV. However, the car does not have any direct rivals in India. But it rivals the Volkswagen Tiguan, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, and Citroen C5 Aircross are SUVs that are in the similar price range
