Honda has revealed the first looks of the 2023 HR-V ahead of its global launch later this year. It has been completely overhauled with a longer hood & a few more curves. In the United States, the second generation of the compact crossover will debut this summer. The new HR-V looks completely different from the previous model, as well as the one available in Europe.
2023 Honda HR-V Exterior Design
The 2023 Honda HR-V has a dynamic appearance which includes a stunning new grille, a larger hood, and a slim roofline. The design language is different from other Honda products. The lights appear to sit higher than on the present model because the headlights are separated from the grille. A section of the nose’s design is incorporated into a curved portion in the middle of the hood.
Now, the bonnet is longer than it was previously. The C-pillar no longer holds the rear door handles. They now have a standard location on the side of the body. The rear pillar has a sharper rake than the front pillar. The taillights are slimmer and smaller. The sculpture appears to be smoother than on the earlier models, especially on the sides.
2023 Honda HR-V Interior Design
The interior design for the 2023 Honda HR-V has yet to be revealed by the company. However, we may assume that it will adopt the Civic’s current interior design and amenities. This comprises a large instrument cluster pod with analogue instruments and a tablet-like infotainment screen mounted at the dash’s top. The second-row Magic Seat in the first-generation HR-V could be carry-forwarded. They can be flipped and folded in a range of designs, allowing the crossover to carry luggage of all shapes and sizes.
Like its interior, the powertrain details are not disclosed yet. The 2023 HR-V is built on the same platform as the new Honda Civic. So the SUV’s engine might be a 158-hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder or a 180-hp turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. We expect a hybrid model to be brought to the lineup later. All-wheel drive will almost likely be available as an option, with front-wheel drive as standard. The addition of an independent rear suspension is expected to improve both ride and handling.
The HR-V is a valuable car for Honda since it has a lot of potential to attract new customers to the brand. Currently, the new HR-V will only be sold in the North American market. It is quite different from the HR-V sold in the Asian markets. As for the Indian market, the details are sparse. But, in order to survive in the Indian market, Honda may have to launch the new HR-V in the near future.
