Both Hyundai and Kia have lined up their flagship SUVs to launch on the 13th of April. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride facelift will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show on the 13th. Prior to the launch, both carmakers have given us a glimpse of their cars.
Even though they look different, they share a lot in common. So here is what we know about the cars so far.
2023 Hyundai Palisade & Kia Telluride: Engine and transmission
Both the SUVs are built on the same chassis and they also share the same powertrains. Like the existing models, the facelift will also feature the same 3.8-litre naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine. This makes 291 hp and 355 Nm of torque and is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Along with this, the 2023 Palisade and Telluride might also feature a diesel engine. A 2.2-litre turbo unit making 197 hp and 440 Nm of torque. Both engines will be available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel-drive layout.
2023 Hyundai Palisade
The Parent company Hyundai showcased the Palisade in 2018 and went on sale in 2019. Going on sale in the U.S., the Palisade made a good reputation. Offered as a 7 or 8-seater midsize SUV, the Palisade was Hyundai’s biggest car in their fleet.
2023 Kia Telluride
The 2023 Kia Telluride facelift will also debut alongside the Palisade during the Los Angeles Motor show. Built on the same chassis and sharing many bits, the Telluride still looks a lot different than Palisade. Kia has definitely worked its magic to differentiate.
