The British marque, Mini has teased the 2023 fifth-gen Cooper 3-door hatch. The brand will stop producing conventional engines from 2025. So this happens to be one of the last few ICE models from Mini. Although the 2023 Cooper 3-door hatch will also be offered as an EV. The 2023 Mini Cooper 3-door hatch
As per reports, Mini will borrow a few powertrains from the parent company. Yes, it will likely use BMW’s 2.0-litre turbo diesel, 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. These engines are used in the BMW 2 Series.
As for the electric Cooper 3-door hatch, Mini will implement a 35.5 kWh battery with a single motor setup producing around 180 hp. The range of the car is still unknown, but we can expect somewhere around 200 km on a single charge.
Under camo, we can see the trademark Mini design. The rounded headlight is even bigger and the union jack taillights will remain. The car is built on BMW’s new FAAR platform that also underpins the 1 Series, 2 Series, X1 and X2. The dimensions are slightly bigger than the predecessor.
They didn’t reveal much about the interiors. We expect the existing interiors to be carried forward with minor updates.

Mini’s next launch will be the Cooper 3-door hatch in 2023 followed by the next-gen Countryman in 2023 and the Cooper Convertible in 2025 which is believed to be their last ICE powered car. The Mini Cooper SE being their first EV, will be accompanied by other new models in the coming years. By 2030, their entire lineup will be electrified.
