Skoda recently launched its premium sedan Skoda Slavia in India. The new Slavia is another product introduced in the country as a part of the Skoda-Volkswagen partnership. The new premium sedan comes with best-in-class technology, powertrain, and safety features. Skoda believes that the Kushaq and Slavia will help improve the automaker’s performance in the Indian market. Here are 5 reasons why the new Slavia should be your next purchase.

1. Aesthetics

Skoda has a rich heritage in Crisp and sleek design language. The new Slavia gets a unique Skoda crystalline design and has a coupe-type contour. The overall design of the Slavia is beyond comparison. Slavia comes with an all-LED headlamp with L-shaped LED DRLs. The butterfly-shaped grille gets a chrome border. On the rear, the sedan gets a c-shape split taillamp and a bumper with an integrated rear diffuser. The chrome bits and crisp shoulder line of the car make it even more alluring.

2. Luxury

Inside the cabin, the sedan makes it evident why it is competing in the premium category. The design and quality of the interior are impeccable. The main highlight of the interior is the multi-layer dashboard and the round AC vents that get climate control and air care functions. Ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and Skoda’s signature sound system make long rides a pleasurable experience.

The new Slavia is a large sedan. Also, it is the widest car in the segment. The Long dimensions provide enough room space and a boot capacity of 521 liters. The rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 ratio to increase the storage space. Skoda has also introduced multiple storage spaces inside the cabin. 

3. Technology

Tech is an important factor in new-age cars. Therefore, the Slavia comes with all the modern tech features. On the center of the dashboard is a 25.4cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple car play and Android Auto connectivity. The system also supports SKODA PLAY APPS, MY SKODA CONNECT, and Skoda Speaker system with 8 high-performance speakers and a sub-woofer.

The sedan also gets a 20.32 cm digital instrument cluster.

Skoda has made charging on the go easier with wireless charging and a 12v socket on the front and 2 USB-c ports on the rear.

4. Power train

The Skoda Slavia features the same engine setup previously seen in the kushaq. The sedan comes with 2 engine variants. The first 1.0-litre TSI engine can generate 113hp and 178Nm of torque. This motor gets an optional 6-speed automatic transmission setup. The second more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine generates 148hp and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual and an optional 7-speed DSG transmission. 

Additionally, Skoda has introduced the Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) in the 1.5-L TSI engine. This shuts 2 cylinders under low speed and loads conditions for better fuel efficiency.

5. Safety

Safety has become an important factor for Indian consumers. Skoda has added ample safety features in the new sedan. Includes – 6 airbags, ABS, Isofix mount, traction control, Tyre pressure monitoring, vehicle stability management, rain and light sensor, electronic differential system, and Hill Hold. Moreover, Skoda is providing electronic stability control as standard across all variants.

Skoda has thought through the whole design and functionality to make this car perfect for Indian consumers. Pre-bookings for the Slavia have already started and the deliveries will commence in the first quarter of 2022.
