Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch 7 new models in 2022. We will get to see updated versions of popular models such as Baleno, Ertiga, XL6, and Brezza. Moreover, the automaker will launch the popular SUV Jimny and another midsize SUV in partnership with Toyota. Keep reading to know more about the upcoming cars from Maruti.
2022 Baleno facelift
The much-awaited Baleno facelift will come with significant interior and exterior styling updates. On the outside, the Baleno will feature new headlamps, taillamps, and grille. overall the car gets a bold and boxy exterior form. Moreover, inside the cabin, the Baleno will get features such as a freestanding infotainment system with apple car play and android auto connectivity, a heads-up display with vital information, and 6 airbags for driver and passenger safety. Maruti has not yet revealed official details about the pricing and other features of the vehicle.
Ertiga and XL6 Facelift
The Ertiga and XL6 MPVs are expected to get a midlife refresh this year. The MPVs will come with prominent changes in both interior and exterior of the vehicle. The overall design language could be similar to the upcoming Baleno and s-Cross. Furthermore, the XL6 is a premium MPV from Maruti and it rivals MPVs such as Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens, Toyota Innova Crysta, etc. Ertiga is an affordable MPV from the automaker.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Maruti Suzuki will be bringing a completely overhauled version of the Brezza. The leaked images of the Brezza hints at significant changes in the overall design styling. Moreover, the midsize SUV will come with new LED projector headlamps, a new Grille, and a bold form. The car will also get features such as a 360-degree parking camera and paddle shifters. Maruti is also changing the name of the SUV from “Vitara Brezza” to just “Brezza”.
Alto 800
Another car getting a midlife refresh is the Alto 800. A heavily camouflaged test mule of the Alto was spotted a few months back. The hatchback will retain most of its design elements. However, the facelift will come with updated headlamps, taillamps, and front grille. We haven’t seen the interior of the upcoming Alto. We expect the cabin to get important updates as Maruti might shift to the Heartect platform.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
We had seen the launch of the new S-Cross in global markets. However, Maruti is yet to launch the new-gen S-Cross in India. The S-Cross gets a much bold and sharp exterior styling similar to SUVs. The previous-generation model came with a crossover-like aesthetic. Furthermore, the S-Cross will feature the same 1.5-litre gasoline engine with an upgraded 48V mild-hybrid technology.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny

The Jimny is one of the most awaited launches from Maruti Suzuki in 2022. Although units for the international market are manufactured in India, Maruti has not launched it in our market. This year Maruti will be bringing a 5-door Jimny along with the 3-door version. It looks similar to the 3-door version but is 300 mm longer. Moreover, this design iteration is done to make the SUV more practical for the Indian market.
Maruti-Toyota midsize SUV
Maruti Suzuki is readying up to launch a new Midsize SUV in partnership with Toyota. The manufacturing will be done at Toyota’s Bidadi plant. The SUV is expected to hit the roads later this year and will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, etc. Furthermore, Maruti is trying to achieve a 5-star GNCAP safety rating for the upcoming SUV.
