Audi India has brought back the Q5 2021 facelift to its portfolio after 2 years. The SUV was discontinued after the implementation of BSVI norms in India. However, the Q5 has made a comeback with a new BSVI compliant petrol engine in a new avatar. 

There will be two trim levels for the Q5 SUV: Premium Plus and Technology. Audi has already commenced pre-bookings for the SUV with a token amount of Rs. 2 lakh. Customers can go to their nearest dealership or book it online on their website.

Audi has improved the overall design of the Q5. On the outside, the first thing you notice is the bold lines that travel across the body. In the front, It gets the new wider single-frame grille with vertical struts, new LED headlights with low energy consumption, a 19-inch 5-double spoke wheels, redesigned bumpers, side air intakes and fresh LED Taillights.

On the inside, the Q5 gets two interior color options – Atlas Beige and Okapi Brown. While the cabin updates seem nominal, Audi has focused on technology. The Q5 now gets a bigger 10.1-inch floating infotainment system, 12.2-inch virtual cockpit, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, 19 speakers Bang and Olufsen (B&F) music system and more. 

The SUV is not short of safety features. It is equipped with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system coupled with damping controls, hill-hold assist, park assist with parking aid plus, cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and more. 

The Q5 is available in 5 different color schemes – Navarra Blue, Ibis White, Floret Silver, Mythos Black and Manhattan Gray. 

The Petrol motor in Audi Q5 Facelift

Audi Q5 2021 facelift features a BSVI compliant petrol engine. The 4-cylinder 2.0-Litre TFSI motor is capable of putting out 250bhp and 370Nm of peak torque. Audis Quattro all-wheel-drive system is standard, and the Q5 is only available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission

Pricing and Competition 

Offered in two trims, the Q5 Performance Plus is priced at ₹58.93 lakh and the Technology trim at ₹63.77 lakh (both ex-showroom). As it always was, the Audi Q5 will take on the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60.
