The all-new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been launched in India. The hatchback now comes with a base price of Rs.6.35 lakh. Maruti mentions the new avatar of its bestselling hatch as ‘tech goes bold’. Baleno vs i20: Powertrain
The 2022 Baleno gets its power from a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder DualJet K12N petrol engine. This motor has a total output power of 90hp and 113 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox are available as transmission options. The manual variant provides an efficiency of 22.35 kmpl, while the AMT variant provides 22.94 kmpl.
On the other hand, the Hyundai i20 is available in multiple drivetrains. Interior and Tech
Baleno gets a modern and spacious cabin. The dashboard gets a three-layer sculpted design with a black-silver- blue colour finish in the high-end models. Moreover, the 9.0-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system supports all new connectivity options including Suzuki connect.
The i20’s interior is premium and user-friendly. The low dashboard provides better road visibility and the infotainment system and climate controls are well placed for a good user experience.
When compared to the Baleno, the Hyundai i20 is a bit more spacious on the inside considering the slight difference in the leg space and headroom.

Final Verdict
The Baleno comes loaded with tech and features for the price it comes at. However, the i20 features 3 different powertrain options. If you are looking for a premium vehicle on a budget the Baleno is a good choice. If you are into performance and wants to own a premium and sporty looking vehicle go for the i20.
