BMW has introduced its new iX SUV in the Indian market. The BEV comes at a starting price of ₹1.16 crore and comes through a completely built unit route (CBU). This massive electric vehicle gets a minimal monolithic exterior styling and a luxurious cabin. Moreover, the vehicle can provide a range of 425km in a single charge. The BMW iX xDrive40 rivals the Mercedes Benz EQC another German masterpiece. In this article, we will do a detailed comparison of both all-electric SUVs BMW iX vs Benz EQC.
BMW iX vs Benz EQC: Exterior Styling and Dimension
The BMW iX gets a simple yet elegant exterior styling. The Monolithic design and the massive size surely help the vehicle in creating a good road presence. The front fascia gets sleek LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The large kidney grille is closed and gets a triangular pattern for futuristic aesthetics. Moreover, two massive functional air intake vents are placed on either side of the enormous front bumper. A 20-inch futuristic alloy wheel and chrome trims dominate the side profile of the BEV. At the rear, the ix gets sleek tail lamps and a rear diffuser under the bumper.
On the other hand, the EQC gets a much more modest design styling. The U-shaped front grille gets a chrome surround and horizontal chrome slats. L-shape projector headlamps come with LED DRL. Furthermore, the side profile is dominated by the large dual-tone alloy wheels. The BEV also gets a premium touch of chrome window lining and a smooth flowing design with a crisp jawline. At the rear, the Mercedes looks a bit more aggressive with its rounded tail lamps that are connected with an LED bar on the tailgate.

Both vehicles get futuristic interiors with an ample amount of seating and storage space. They are equipped with features such as auto climate control, ambient lighting, multiple airbags, sunroof, cruise control, curved instrument cluster, and infotainment system as standard.
Furthermore, a Crystal gear shifter, I-drive knob, and interior features such as leather seats, USB-C ports, create a comfy and luxurious cabin in the BMW iX.
On the other hand, Mercedes Benz EQC gets heated, powered front seats heated steering, motorized steering adjuster, head-up display, and a 13-speaker Burmester music system.
Powertrain
BMW iX is only available in a single xDrive40 variant. This comes with a 71kWh battery, integrated with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. The iX xDrive40 generates a power output of 326hp/630Nm of peak torque. This BEV can provide a range of 425km in a single charge.
The EQC features an 80kWh battery connected to two electric motors. The EQC can churn out 402.3hp/760Nm of peak torque and provides a range of 455-471km in a single charge.
Pricing
The BMW iX comes at a base price of ₹1.16 crores while the Mercedes-Benz EQC is available for ₹1.06 crore (both prices, ex-showroom).
It is difficult to select a winner because both vehicles go head to head in terms of design and features. However, the Mercedes EQC has a slight advantage when it comes to power output and range.
