Bugatti Automobiles, known for its super-fast hyper sports cars has developed another limited-edition hypercar. Known as the Bugatti Centodieci pays tribute to the famous Bugatti EB110 and Bugatti’s 110th anniversary. It was showcased in 2019-20 during its anniversary and the name Centodieci translates to ‘110’ in Italian.

After 2 years, the company decided to enter the Centodieci into production. Now don’t mistake us when we say production because Bugatti is only building 10 examples of the car. Yes, only 10 customers across the world will ever own this specially handcrafted hypercar. The price of the Bugatti Centodieci is €8 million or approximately ₹67.62 crore.

Bugatti Centodieci Engine and performance

The Hypercar will have the Bugatti’s 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine. It can produce a mammoth 1577 hp (100 more than Chiron) and an estimated 1600 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that powers all four wheels.

The Centodieci can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.4 seconds with a top speed of 236 mph (380 kmph). It is lower than Chiron’s top speed of 261 mph (420 kmph) because Bugatti has limited it. But we all know that is not Chiron’s top speed. The Chiron Super Sport 300+ variant reached a top speed of 304.77 mph (490 kmph) which broke many records back in 2019.

Bugatti Centodieci production

The Centodieci has been under rigorous testing in the Nardo Track in Southern Italy. Bugatti wants to push the car to its absolute limit to make sure it can take any kind of load. The car has completed over 50,000 km of test runs in extreme conditions. They also tested the Centodieci in the wind tunnel and hot weather conditions before this.

In fact, it was driven continuously day and night with stops only for a driver change, technical checks and refuelling. Engineers were constantly monitoring the car on different drive modes, stop and go tests and top speed tests. Different functionalities like acceleration, braking, steering, cornering ability in both wet and dry conditions were inspected. The team were looking for any kind of anomaly or irregularities in the car to rectify before entering the car into production.

Once the testing is complete, Bugatti will commence production and has promised to deliver all 10 cars by the end of 2022. Each car will be customised according to the owner’s needs. Also, each of the cars will have its own driving dynamics setup.
