A number of carmakers hiked the prices for their vehicles in the April of 2021, Now more carmakers are announcing the same for various reasons. Take a look at the carmakers that are going to hike the car prices in May 2021.

Renault Car Prices Hike:

Renault has officially announced the hike in price for Renault Kiger. The Kiger now costs INR 30,000 more than before starting this May. The price hike changes based on the variant and the hike for some variants are at INR14,000 while for some it’s as high as INR 30,000. The price hike doesn’t affect entry-level trims like the RXE, RTX turbo CVT, and RXZ turbo CVT.

Morris Garages Car Prices Hike:

MG Motors India has hiked the prices for some of its cars last month, this month MG has hiked the prices for its forerunner the MG Gloster. The entry-level trims price has not been hiked, but for other variants, the price hike is as high as INR 40,000.

Volvo:

Volvo has increased prices for its cars in the month of May citing rising input costs. A price hike of INR 1,00,000 to INR 2,00,000 has been announced on all of its cars and will come into effect this May. This is Volvo’s first major price hike since 2018 and the company says there might be another price hike in the coming months. The S90 sedan, XC40, XC60, XC90 SUVs are all affected due to the price hike.

A lot of carmakers have been hiking the costs for their products recently with reasons varying from input costs to the increase in costs of steel production.
