Fiat has unveiled its all-new SUV and it is codenamed 363 internally. The car will go on sale in the South American market end of this year. It will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Renegade in the South American market. The car is aimed at upcoming markets like South America where Fiat has a stronghold. The company has not decided on a name for the car and has taken it online where customers can choose to vote between the names Pulse, Tuo or Domo. The Italian maker is expecting its new car will pave its way into the surging mid-size SUV segment.
What to expect from the Fiat 363?
On the outside, we can see the car featuring the brand’s new design theme which is already seen on some models from Fiat, the Argo and the Strada. You can straight away see the huge grille which mounts the big Fiat name on it. The sharp headlamps with DRL and the triangular-shaped housing on the bumper get the fog lamps. It mounts a prominent chin and the black cladding runs across the whole body. The rear gets an elegant LED taillamp with a dual exhaust setup. The roof gets an integrated spoiler with brake lights in them. The skid plates on the front and rear give it a rugged SUV stance.
It gets offered in two motors options, few base variants get the 1.3L naturally aspirated petrol engine making 109 horses. This engine is also seen in the South American spec Jeep Compass. It also gets the direct injection of a 1.0L turbo petrol engine which makes a 128BHP, mated to a CVT gearbox.
When will the Fiat 363 launch in India?
Unfortunately Indian market will not see Fiat’s new mid-sized SUV. The parent company Steelantis has decided to only focus on Jeep sales in our market. The company will introduce a new 7-seater Commander, a sub 4m SUV in India.
