Ford has been working on the next iteration of the Endeavour. It has been spied testing in Australia ahead of its launch in 2022. The pics have revealed some key details about the car. The car will adopt a new front fascia inspired by the present F-series pickup truck. Along with the Endeavour, Ford will also introduce the new Ranger pickup truck, which might not make it to India but other international markets.
Ford Endeavour key details spotted
From the spy shots, we can spot that the car gets a new front fascia with c-shaped headlamps, wider air intake, a new bumper, flatter bonnet. At the rear, it receives a restyled bumper, c-shaped taillamps, high mounted stoplights, roof-integrated spoiler, tweaked tailgate and new black alloy wheels. To match the competition the Endeavour’s new design seems bold and aggressive.
The dimensions of the car are still not clear, but Ford seemed to gave increased the dash-to-front-axle ratio similar to the upcoming Ranger, which it shares the platform with to accommodate a bigger V6 turbocharges diesel engine. The brand is expected to introduce a new interior with the latest in-car connective technologies, tablet-sized touchscreen infotainment system, bigger digital instrument cluster.
Powertrain options for the Ford Endeavour
For some international markets like Australia Ford will introduce two diesel engine options, the 3.2L 5-cylinder turbo-diesel engine and a 2.0L 4-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine. The 3.2L will only be offered in the top-spec variant. Also, a sports variant has been expected for the Australian market.
Ford will also introduce a petrol engine for the Endeavour, a 2.3L turbocharged petrol engine with a plug-in hybrid system that makes around 270bhp of power and 680nm of torque. This option will be concentrated on international markets.
For the Indian market, Ford probably will only stick to the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharges diesel engine which makes 168bhp of power and 420nm of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2022 Endeavour will go on sales in early 2022 in Australia, so we can expect the car to be launched a little late in India. The Endeavour has been a popular car among Indian buyers alongside the Ford Ecosport. The Ford Endeavour will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Tata Safari, MG Gloster and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
