Hyundai is readying up to take over the MPV segment. The new Stargazer will rival the likes of Maruti XL6 and Kia Carens. Recently leaked images of a test mule reveal important details about the upcoming MPV. Here is what we know about the 2022 Hyundai Stargazer.
Hyundai Stargazer: Design and Styling
The highly camouflaged test mule reveals minimal information about the upcoming MPV. However, we understand that the MPV comes with a cab-forward design and a slanted teardrop side profile. This could mean that the Stargazer could come with a spacious interior layout.
At the front, the MPV gets a split headlamp with LED DRLs aligning with the hood of the vehicle. The front grille comes in an arrayed mesh pattern. Overall the Stargazer gets a similar design styling as the Hyundai Staria MPV. The pointy headlamp units extend all the way down to the air intakes. The sleek DRL and the massive intakes create an aggressive look to the vehicle.
Stargazer’s side profile is dominated by its shallow nose and curved roof. The rising window line creates a tall look to the car. Moreover, the square wheel arches are another significant design element in the side profile.
At the rear, the main highlight is the hexagonal windshield. The vertically positioned triangular tail lamps extend a bit to integrate with the tailgate. The Tail-lamp also gets T-shaped design elements.
We are expecting the Hyundai Stargazer to use the tried and tested engine seen in the Creta. However, we expect Hyundai to include multiple engine options and a diesel variant when it is launched in different markets. As of now, we have limited information about the motor and transmission setup of the upcoming MPV.
The Stargazer will be first introduced in Indonesia before being introduced in other international markets. Moreover, the MPV will rival the likes of Suzuki Ertiga and XL6, Kia Carens, and Honda Mobilio. Also, the Stargazer will make its way to India sometime in the future.
