Honda has teased its all new 5-seater SUV concept, confirming that it will be unveiled at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on November 11. This future 5-seater compact SUV is supposed to share its foundations with the city and the recently unveiled Honda BRV 7-seater SUV. The new compact SUV will be first introduced in Indonesia.

Seen as a replacement model for WR-V, Honda’s new SUV is expected to hit the Indian market soon. It will rival Hyundai Creta, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon etc.

What we know about the upcoming Honda’s SUV

As seen on teasers revealed by honda the expected details of the ZR-V include- New edgy LED headlamps, a Front nose similar to the honda city, and a sculpted Bonnet. In terms of exterior styling, the BR-V and ZR-V share a lot in common. The roofline has a slight slant towards the rear which creates a coupe-like profile from the sides.

Under the hood, the ZR-V is expected to come with the 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine which generates 121hp and 145Nm of torque. It might also come with a 1.0-litre turbocharged motor capable of generating 122hp of power. The same engine was previously seen in the BR-V. Honda will provide a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission setup.

The design sketches honda had teased recently depict the sharp design language of the upcoming SUV. The Picture also hints at the coupe styling of the car.

We will have to wait till the official launch to get a glimpse of the interior. However, the new SUV is expected to come with all new multimedia and safety technologies similar to its rivals.

The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) will start on November 11 and will go on till November 21. We will have to wait for the official reveals happening during this period to know more about the design and specifications of the upcoming compact SUV from honda and cars from other automakers.
