In its Platinum (O) trim, Hyundai has introduced a new seven-seater variant of the Alcazar, priced at Rs 19.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Alcazar’s seven-seater layout is only available on the Platinum (O) diesel model, and Hyundai has omitted it from the petrol model.

There are three trim levels available for the Alcazar: Premium, Platinum, and Signature. The Platinum (O) is the only automatic variant to offer a six- and seven-seater layout, and Signature is the only automatic variant to offer a seven-seater layout.

Hyundai Alcazar 7-seat configuration

As a result of this change, the Platinum O trim now has a seven-seat bench layout. Because it costs Rs 15,000 less than the six-seater Platinum (O), this is the only automatic that can be configured as either a seven-seater vehicle or a six-seater.

The new seven-seater model includes all of the standard equipment found in the Platinum (O) trim level. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose sound system, a 360-degree camera, and more are all included in the price of the new Ford Focus RS SEL. There is a wireless charger and cup holders in a central console on the floor, but the new seven-seater trim misses out on this feature.

The Alcazar’s 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 115hp and 250Nm, and it’s mated to a 6-speed auto transmission.

The seven-seater Hyundai Alcazar competitors

In terms of competition, the Hyundai Alcazar faces the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. According to the Tata Safari XTA+ trim, it costs Rs 20.09 lakh more than the Alcazar’s mid-spec trim (ex-showroom, Delhi). There’s a diesel-AT powertrain available on the Safari as well, but it’s not as feature-packed as the Hyundai.

The MG Hector Plus diesel, on the other hand, does not come with an automatic transmission option. It’s possible to get a seven-seater Hector Plus Select trim for the same price as the Alcazar (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the top-spec Hector Plus Sharp, there is only a six-seat configuration. It’s not even close to the Alcazar Platinum in terms of features (O).
