The Hyundai Alcazar has been making noise across the auto industry for quite some time now. The launch had been delayed because of the pandemic and now Hyundai on Wednesday confirmed that the bookings are open for the Alcazar SUV and you can go to your nearest dealership or book it online on their website. Customers just have to pay a booking fee of just Rs.25,000/- for the Alcazar. The car is planned to be launched in the third week of June 2021.
What do we know about Hyundai Alcazar so far?
The Alcazar is a 3-row variant of the Creta and also shares few design elements like body panels and interior bits. The 150mm increment in the wheelbase accommodates the 3rd row in the Alcazar, the total wheelbase is 2,670mm making it the longest in the segment.
The changes are very subtle between Creta and Alcazar, it gets a new studded front grille, new bumper, new taillight, new 18-inch alloy wheel and faux dual exhaust tips. The extra wheelbase provides third-row seating, either 6-seater with captain seats or a 7-seater with bench seating. Also, has a 180-litre boot space which is the largest among the competitors.
The Alcazar gets similar features as in Creta, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A 7-inch driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, cruise control, automatic AC, ventilated seats, 36 degrees camera with blind-spot monitoring, traction control and more.
Engine options include a 2.0L petrol engine which produces 160bhp and 192nm of torque. Also, a 1.5L turbo-diesel engine produces 115bhp and 250nm of torque. It also gets different drive modes to select comfort, eco and sport. Transmission options include both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic.
According to the website, both petrol and diesel, Alcazar will be offered in 9 different trims namely, Prestige 6 seater, Prestige 7 seater, Prestige(O) 7 seater, Platinum 7 seater, Platinum(O) 6 seater, Signature 6 seater manual and auto, Signature 6 seater dual-tone manual and auto.
The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be priced from Rs. 15 lakh ex-showroom and it will go against the Tata Safari, MG Hector plus, present Mahindra XUV500, Toyota Innova Crysta.
