After significant delays due to the Pandemic, Hyundai is all set to launch the Alcazar on June 18th 2021. But the company has opened the booking for everyone, you can either go to the nearest Hyundai dealer or visit their website and book the car. The token amount is Rs. 25,000/-. The SUV is getting popular among the masses, because of the luxury and features which had been rumoured earlier. Let’s dive in and get into the details. 

Engine performance of the Hyundai Alcazar 

Hyundai will offer the Alcazar in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol engine is a Nu 2.0L 4-cylinder MPI petrol engine which is seen in Tucson as well. This engine produces a peak power of 160bhp and a peak torque of 19.5 kg.m or 191nm of torque. For the diesel option it uses the same 1.5L CRDI engine in the Creta, this makes a peak power of 115 bhp and 25.5 kg.m or 250 nm of torque. 

Both the engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The mileage on the petrol engine is 14.5 kmpl for the MT and 14.2 kmpl for the AT. Similarly, for the diesel engine, it is 20.4 kmpl for the MT and 18.1kmpl for the AT. These efficiencies are claimed to be the best in the segment. 

Hyundai Alcazar: Exterior and interior 

The Hyundai Alcazar is an extended version of the ongoing Creta. The noticeable difference is the studded front grille, redesigned LED headlights, new bumper, bigger 18-inch alloy wheels, new wraparound taillights and a faux dual exhaust. They share a few design elements like body panels and some interior bits. 

The Alcazar has a 150mm longer wheelbase than the Creta, this extra length helps to accommodate the third row. The Alcazar comes as a 6-seater or a 7-seater, the 6-seater gets 2 captain seats in the last row and the 7-seater gets a bench seat. The Alcazar is claimed to have the longest wheelbase in the segment, this improves the legroom inside the cabin. Also improves the boot space, 180 Litres with all 3 rows in an upright position which is the largest among competitors. 

Hyundai has packed the Alcazar with tons of features, many being 1st in segment features. To name that 1st in segment features, a 26.03cm (10.25 inch) multi-display digital cluster, blind view monitor (BVM), wireless charging for the second row, Bose premium sound system, 64 colours ambient lighting, 2nd-row tip and tumble captain and split seats, Auto health air purifier with AQI display, front row seatback table. Other features include a voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof, different drive modes, advanced Bluelink with map updates. 

Coming to safety features Alcazar doesn’t disappoint you here, it is expected to come with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) known as SmartSense in Hyundai. This includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear traffic alert, auto braking while reversing, driver attention warning, smart cruise control, traction control mode (Snow, Sand, Mud), highway driving assist lane departure warning and more. 

Huyndai Alcazar trims and color options 

The Alcazar has both petrol and diesel variants, both these variants will be offered in 9 different trims. It includes Prestige 6 seater, Prestige 7 seater, Prestige(O) 7 seater, Platinum 7 seater, Platinum(O) 6 seater, Signature 6 seater manual transmission, Signature 6 seater automatic transmission, Signature 6 seater dual-tone manual transmission and Signature 6 seater dual-tone auto transmission. 

Coming to the colour options, the Alcazar will be offered in 6 different colour schemes and 2 dual-tone schemes. The Colors include Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Titan Grey, Phantom Black, Starry Night. The dual-tone has a Polar white body with a Phantom Black roof or a Titan Grey body with a Phantom Black roof. 

Conclusion 

We expect the Hyundai Alcazar to be priced between Rs. 15 lakh to 20 lakh ex-showroom, we will have the exact figures when the car is launched next week. The Alcazar will go against the Tata Safari, MG Hector plus, Toyota Innova Crysta and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
