After delayed launches for the new Hyundai SUV, sources now tell the company has decided June 18th for the launch of the 7-seater SUV, Alcazar. The SUV has been making quite an impression among the buyers with its stunning design and features. The Alcazar is placed to rival the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Toyota Innova Crysta and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700. The Alcazar can be pre-booked online on the company website or you can visit any Hyundai dealership for an amount of Rs.25,000/-. Here are the 5 things you need to know about the Hyundai Alcazar.

  1. Exterior design

The Alcazar is more than just a 7-seater elongated version of the Creta. The company has given bespoke touches to differentiate the Alcazar. It gets the same tri-beam LED headlights as the Creta but a different chrome studded cascading front grille. A new bumper and a revised fog lamp housing. The rear has been styled to have a more upright tailgate and gets revised taillights. The rear overhang beyond the C pillar seems larger with bigger glass and a quarter panel. Alcazar is also fitted with a bigger 18-inch alloy wheel, a size bigger than the Creta.

  2. Interior and dimension

It is evident that the interior is a huge upgrade from the Creta and packs more features. It has a Dual-tone Cognac Brown shaded interior as opposed to a black and beige theme on Creta. Hyundai offers the SUV in either a 6-seat or 7-seat configuration. The 7-seater gets a bench seat and the 6-seater gets two captain seats in the last row. The second row gets a sliding function that can be adjusted to free up space for the third-row passengers. Second-row seats get a one-touch tumble mechanism for easy access to the third row.
The Alcazar has a 150mm more wheelbase compared to the Creta, this makes it the longest in the segment. This extra length provides more space in the rear, this gives the segment-best boot space. Alcazar offers 180 litres of boot space whereas the competitor’s Tata Safar, Hector and XUV500 offer 73-litres, 155 litres and 93 litres respectively.

  3. Features list on Hyundai Alcazar

This includes safety features to assist and guide the driver. It includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, smart cruise control.

Both engines are offered in either a 6-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
