Hyundai has finally launched the new Creta Facelift 2022 at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2021 (GIIAS). The SUV was teased a few weeks back ahead of the launch giving a glimpse of what to expect.
Now that the SUV has been officially unveiled we can see the new design language used. It will carry a more aggressive, upfront design compared to the ongoing version. Let’s dive in and check out the car in detail.
Hyundai Creta Facelift 2022 Design
As spotted in the teaser, the Creta Facelift will get a heavily redesigned front end, especially the front grille. This is very similar to Hyundai’s new design philosophy employed in the new-gen Tucson. The new parametric front grille spreads across the width of the car which also embraces the new LED DRL’s. The DRL’s blend into the grille when turned off which makes it unique. The new rectangular-shaped headlights are positioned at the same place with a revised bumper with a silver faux skid plate.

The newly designed diamond-cut black-silver alloy blend in beautifully with the car. The rear is also updated with a newly designed taillight which replaces the existing taillight spreading across the width.
Hyundai Creta Facelift 2022: Interior and features

To compensate for this Hyundai has introduced a plethora of features in the facelift. It gets a new 10.25-inch instrument cluster seen in the Alcazar, updated BlueLink connected car technology and a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and more.
But the most prominent feature is the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which is also expected to come to India. This opens up the option for a few more features such as Lane keep assist, blind-spot monitor, autonomous emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist.
The BlueLink connected car tech can additionally provide safety features such as stolen vehicle tracking and immobilization and a valet parking mode.
Hyundai Creta Facelift 2022 Engine Options
The Indonesian market gets the 1,5-Litre NA petrol engine capable of making 114bhp and 142Nm of torque. However, the Indian version will retain the existing engine options. The 1.5-Litre CRDI diesel, 1.4-Litre GDI petrol and the 1.5-Litre MPI petrol engines. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, 7-speed DCT and an IVT gearbox.
Price and India launch
With the improved feature list, we expect Creta to be priced slightly more than the existing lineup. As of now, the carmaker has not yet made an official statement about the launch date in India. But the expected timeline is the second half of 2022. The Creta goes against the Tata Harrier, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq.
