Hyundai Creta will receive a mid-life update next year. Ahead of its launch in India, the model will make its global debut in November at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The automaker has already started posting teaser videos and images of the upcoming Hyundai Creta 2022 Facelift.

One of the main highlights revealed by the restyling of the Hyundai Creta 2022 is the LED daytime running lights, which form a boomerang when turned on and blend into the grille when turned off, like the new Hyundai Tucson. The look of the SUV is also emphasized by the raised brake light. The muscular approach continued to the rear with a straight roof. The body will remain largely the same as the current model, but expect Hyundai to install sharper alloy rims to complete the strong look. At the rear, the Hyundai Creta 2022 facelift receives an inward extension of LED taillights for a more established design.

Hyundai Creta Facelift Interior Updates

Hints from teaser images show the interior updates for the 2022 Hyundai Creta will include – a D-cut steering wheel, vertical ventilation integrated into a defogger, 360-degree camera, and heads-up display. A new infotainment system and Hyundai bluelink technology are also expected to be part of updated tech. 

Engine and Transmission

In India, the Creta is expected to continue with the existing engine variants. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated gasoline engine that can produce 115hp and 144 Nm of torque. And a 1.4-litre Turbo powered petrol engine that can churn out 140 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It also comes with a 1.5-litre diesel engine which makes 115 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Apart from the six-speed manual transmission,

the 1.5l petrol engine will be mated with a CVT auto transmission. While the diesel engine will come with an option of a six-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.4l turbo- petrol will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Hyundai is planning to launch the facelifted Creta in Indian in the second half of 2022. The Creta will continue to rival Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and MG Astor. The facelifted edition of Creta will be priced at about Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 higher than the current lineup of Creta.
