Hyundai Creta is the best selling SUV in India right now, despite the second wave of Covid-19 Creta managed to stay on top. A couple of months ago, Hyundai increased the prices of Creta up to Rs. 20,000. With the signs of things getting back to normal across the country, the Korean carmaker has launched a new variant to the Creta lineup called SX Executive. What does it come with and what does it lack?
Where is the new trim placed in the lineup?
The SX Executive trim sits between the S and the SX trims. It is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.5L 4-cylinder motor that produces 115ps and 114nm of torque. Whereas, the diesel is a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine making 115bhp and 250nm of torque. The SX Executive trim only gets the 6-speed manual transmission.
The petrol SX Executive trim is priced at Rs. 13.14 lakh ex-showroom, almost a lakh more than the S trim and 78k less than the SX trim. The diesel SX Executive trim is priced at Rs. 14.14 lakh ex-showroom, it has a similar price difference for the lower (S) and upper trims (SX).
Features missing in SX Executive trim
Compared to the SX trim SX Executive misses out on some features, like the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluelink internet connectivity, smartphone connectivity, voice recognition button, burglar alarm, driver rearview monitor, Arkamys sound mood. But it still gets a body-coloured door, day/night mirror, multi-functional steering wheel with controls, reverse camera, USB port, shark fin antenna etc.
According to Hyundai, the new SX Executive trim is introduced to provide volume for the company. The existing SX MT will be made available with the new trim, but the company might make it in limited numbers so that the SX Executive will be their major volume provider.
The Hyundai Creta is the best selling SUV in India, but the competition is fierce in this segment. It goes against the Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, upcoming Skoda Kushaq. Do you think Creta will continue to stay at the top? Let us know in the comments.
