Hyundai India has discontinued various trims of Venue and Creta. The automaker had included multiple variants with minimal features to increase production during the chip shortage. However, the manufacturer now plans to bring new variants for both Venue and Creta.
The ongoing global chip shortage has created difficulties for all automakers. Hyundai had made adjustments to Venue’s and Creta’s lineup to shorten the waiting period. The executive variant of Creta and Venue misses out on prominent features such as an infotainment system that needs advanced electric parts. Furthermore, as the chip shortage is declining currently, the manufacturers are working towards increasing the production output.
More about Venue and Creta
Hyundai has decided to take down 6 variants from Venue’s lineup and 2 from Creta. Dealers have been notified to give suitable offers for customers demanding the discontinued models.
Venue
Hyundai has discontinued 7 trims of Venue, 5 of which are featuring the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. These variants are S(O) DCT, SX+ DCT Dual Tone, S(O) IMT, SX(O) IMT, and SX(O) Dual Tone IMT. On the other hand, only 2 trims carrying the 1.5-litre diesel motor were Discontinued – S(O) and SX(O) Dual Tone.
Facelifted Venue is yet to make its debut. Test mules of the upcoming vehicle were spotted multiple times in India and Korea. We are expecting the Venue facelift to hit our market sometime soon. The engine options will remain the same. However, we are expecting a significant trim-wise price hike for the upcoming facelift.
Creta
Two variants of Creta have been discontinued. The first model SX DCT gets its power from a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. The second model SX AT features a 1.5-litre diesel mill. We are still waiting on detailed information from the manufacturer regarding this decision. We are expecting the company to be making space for the upcoming facelift of Creta later this year.
The Creta facelift was launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2021 (GIIAS). The upcoming facelift will feature multiple new design elements including the futuristic front grille with integrated headlamps. The facelift will also get ADA, new alloy wheels, and connected tech.
