Some of you car enthusiasts may be excited about Volkswagen’s latest venture. The Volkswagen bus, which came into existence a long time ago, is making a comeback as the ID.Buzz. From its name, we can assume that the car is going to be all-electric. Volkswagen has managed to stir up old childhood memories and has helped in upgrading the new ID.Buzz based on the Volkswagen Bus.
The all-new ID.Buzz has many new features and it will serve as a showcase for Volkswagen’s MEB electric architecture. It will be among the first few electric vans made especially for families. The ID.Buzz is not very different from the original T1 camper van, its shape and some features are very similar. All in all, the microbus is fresh and it is very modern.
Volkswagen ID.Buzz: Range and Battery
The driving range of the microbus hasn’t been released by Volkswagen as of yet. Although it is expected to have a capacity of 300 miles when it is fully charged. The AC charging power is expected to be around 11 kW. The ID.Buzz’s charging power can increase almost to 170 kW at a DC fast charging station. In 30 minutes, Volkswagen claims that the charge can go from 5 to 80%. The ID.Buzz will have an 82 kWh battery pack which will get a horsepower of 201 and torque of 310 Nm. The acceleration of the model is active and smooth, it isn’t too powerful or complex.
Cabin interiors and features
The cabin of the ID.Buzz consists of a 10-inch gauge cluster along with a 10-inch central infotainment system. It also has an option of a larger 12-inch display. The vehicle supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well. The centre console of the model is completely movable and can be removed.
Volkswagen ID.Buzz: Exteriors
The ID.Buzz wasn’t made for use as a sports car but more as a confident family vehicle. The wheelbase of the ID.Buzz is 2,988 mm much similar to the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and ID.6 EVs.However, the American model will get a much wider wheelbase. The characteristics on the exterior of the car are very charming and playful looking.
