Isuzu Motors India has updated its infotainment systems for two of its models, the Isuzu V-Cross and MU-X. These cars now feature a larger and upgraded 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in their cabin. This new unit is also confirmed to have Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity. Smartphone connectivity was not available in the earlier 7-inch touchscreen unit. It is noted that Isuzu made this move after the recent launch of the Toyota Hilux. The Hilux is getting many new and better-equipped features than the V-Cross pickup.

Pricing

The Isuzu V-Cross is offered in two trims, a base Z variant with FWD automatic and a manual 4WD option. It also has a top-spec Z Prestige variant with an automatic 4WD option. The V-Cross starts from a price of Rs. 23 lakh and can go up to Rs. 27 lakh. Moreover, the MU-X SUV is priced from Rs. 35 lakh to Rs. 37.90 lakh. No extra price has been added for the new infotainment system.

Isuzu V-Cross and MU-X Features

Isuzu V-Cross In terms of the equipment, there are no other changes which were made for both the vehicles. Both the models will continue to have features including an 8-speaker sound system, cruise control, LED headlamps, and automatic climate control. One common feature in both vehicles is the shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob. 

Isuzu MU-XBoth the V-Cross and MU-X have many safety features such as electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent, an anti-lock braking system with EBD and a standard number of 6 airbags. Other features to improve safety include ISOFIX child seat mounts, reverse parking sensors, brake override system and more.

Engine

There will not be many alterations to the mechanical side of the models either. Both the cars will don the same 1.9-litre diesel engine that can generate a maximum power of 163 ps and 360 Nm peak torque. The V-Cross does also come with the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as a 6-speed automatic. However, the MU-X SUV only comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. 

An official announcement has not been received as to when the MU-X and the V-Cross will be introduced with the updated infotainment system to the Indian market. The V-Cross does not have any direct rivals, but a costlier and current model is the Toyota Hilux. The MU-X will face plenty of competition from the Mahindra Alturas 4G, MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner too.
