Kia launched the all-new Carens MPV today. The Carens is an MPV tailor-made for Indian families. This is the next breathtaking product from Kia, designed with the practicality of an MPV and the Feel of an SUV.
Kia Carens: Exterior Styling
The exterior design of the Kia Carens depicts the new Opposites united design philosophy of the company. In fact, the Carens is the first model in the Indian market based on this new design language. The opposites united design philosophy emphasizes the contrast found in nature and makes the vehicle stand out from its rivals.
The bold side profile with the crisp shoulder line and the long-wheelbase creates an SUV-like confident look. At the front, the car gets sporty and stable design styling with new headlamps with Kia’s new signature LED DRL’s the star map.
Horizontal chrome lining below the front grille and the chrome frame around the lower grille creates a tiger face styling. a technical-looking taillamp with star map-led design elements dominates the rear profile, the car also gets chrome trims below the rear bumpers.
Kia Carens: Interior and tech
Kia’s joy for reason design styling can be seen in the interior styling of the new Carens. Kia has done extensive user research to create the best-in-class interior for the Kia Carens. The 3- row cabin is premium, comfortable and spacious.
Kia has given equal importance to safety as well. the Carens come with safety features such as Electronic stability control, Vehicle stability management, Hill-start assist control, downhill brake control, tire pressure monitoring system, all-wheel disk brakes, and 6 airbags.
Kia did not disclose the engine options of the new Carens, but the company revealed that the MPV will be available in both gasoline and diesel engines. However, the petrol motor is likely to be the tried and tested 2.0-litre unit previously seen in Hyundai Alcazar. This engine can produce 157 bhp and 191 Nm of torque.
The diesel unit, on the other hand, will be the same 1.5-litre engine unit from Seltos. This motor is capable of producing 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The automaker also hinted that the MPV will come with seven-speed DCT automatic and six-speed manual transmission options.
The Company has not revealed the pricing and variants of the new Carens. However, we are expecting it to be placed around the same pricing as its cousin Hyundai Alcazar.
