Kia has revealed design sketches of the upcoming 3 row SUV the Carens. The new Kia Carens MPV will be globally launched on December 16, 2021. The sketches give us a hint of the styling and aesthetics of the upcoming Carens.
The Carens feature Kia’s new “Opposites United” design language and the front grille gets a ‘Tiger Nose design’.
Kia Carens MPV: Exterior Styling
Kia India has unveiled the exterior and interior sketches of the upcoming Carens. The design sketches of the upcoming MPV look more like an SUV. At the front, the MPV features a flat hood, with a straight nose and dense front bumper. The bumper gets a strong division between the top and bottom air intake vents. Flowing chamfers can be seen around the air vents and the bumper division.
The Carens come with a dual-headlight design with slim, wrap-around lamps and a relatively smaller grille. The main headlights come under the slim DRL units.
The side profile of the Carens is long and rugged. Matte black claddings and the large wheels give the MPV a go-getter look. The shoulder line of the car starts from the headlamps and merges with the front door the line reappears in the rear door and continues towards the taillamp.
Kia Carens MPV: Interior
We are still waiting on information about the interior specifications. Although, we assume that the MPV will come in 6 and 7-seat layouts. All three rows will have convenience features like charging ports and cup holders. The second row could also come with wireless charging slots.
Powertrain
The Kia Carens might feature 1.5-litre gasoline and diesel engines. These two engines already come in the Seltos and Sonet. Horsepower and torque values, as well as gearbox options, should also be similar to the Seltos.
The Kia Carens global unveil will be on December 16. The MPV will hit the markets by February or March 2022. Moreover, the Carens for the foreign market will be made in India. The Carens will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 facelift and Hyundai Alcazar.
