Kia on Thursday has introduced the refreshed edition of the 2021 Carnival MPV. Kia has also updated the variants with new features. The MPV will also feature the company’s new logo which is also used in the Seltos and Sonet SUVs.
With the introduction of two new trims, Limousine and Limousine Plus the Carnival is priced between Rs. 24.95 to Rs, 33.99 lakh (Ex-showroom). The MPV is now available to book at any of Kia’s authorised outlets or on the company’s website.
We don’t see any major updates on the outside for the Carnival. However, the interior is updated with Premium VIP Leather seats with improved leg support for the second row. For better convenience, the car gets an 8-inch AVNT (Audio Video Navigation Telematics) with over the air map updates, UVO support and auto-dimming (ECM) IRVMs.
The new Limousine trim earlier had dual rear screens, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ventilated driver’s seat which is available only in the Limousine Plus variant. The Limousine trim gets a single 10.1-inch rear seat screen, auto-dimming IRVM’s, smart pure air purifier.
The top of the line, Limousine plus variant has been offered with loads of features. It gets Harman Kardon Premium 8 speaker sound system, 10-way power-adjustable driver seat which is ventilated. Leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob with premium wood garnish for the dash. It gets two 10.1-inch rear-seat screens, a tyre pressure monitor and more.

The Carnival top specs are provided with a plethora of features. Like ice-cube LED fogs with LED projector headlights, a dual-pane sunroof, three-zone climate control, 8.0-inch touchscreen info supporting Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and a powered tailgate.
Safety features include dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor with a camera, Brake assist, corner brake control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitor, rollover mitigation and more.

The Kia Carnival starts at Rs. 24.95 lakh for the 7-seater Premium trim which goes all the way up to Rs. 33.99 lakh for the 7-seater Limousine Plus trim. It is also offered in 8-seater and 9-seater configurations which are only available in Premium and Prestige trims respectively.
Powering the massive MPV is only offered with a 4-cylinder 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine. It produced a maximum power of 198 bhp and 440Nm of torque. Powering the front wheels is an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Kia Carnival competition
The only other MPV competing against the Kia Carnival is Toyota Innova Crysta. To name other competitors, it goes against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
Kia plans on increasing the production capacity by 40 percent. They also have new models lined up for the Indian market. The next expected car will be an affordable MPV which will go against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/XL6.
