Kia KY: Exterior and Interior Styling

Kia KY (Carens) MPV

The Kia KY test mule spotted testing

The new Kia KY will sport a new SUV-like design with styling similar to the existing Kia models such as Seltos and Sonet, as well as the brand’s popular models such as the EV6 sold overseas. The test mules spotted look like a larger version of the Kia Seltos.

On the side profile, the new car has a longer wheelbase to accommodate the third row of seats and a sharp shoulder line. However, detailed information about the interior and exterior features are not available at the moment. The Kia KY will come with all the features available in the Seltos and Sonet. Additional features might include ADAS and Panoramic Sunroof. We will have to wait till 16th December to know more about the KY.

Kia KY: Engine and Transmission

The Kia KY will be powered by the brands existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Kia Seltos and Sonet have featured these engines successfully. The gasoline engine can produce 113bhp and 244Nm of peak torque while the diesel motor generates 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual or automatic transmission is provided as a transmission option.

Pricing and Competition

The new KY will be placed above the Kia Seltos. Thus making the KY a more expensive choice. The new entrant will compete with Maruthi Suzuki XL6, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector plus, etc.

Kia has hinted that the new MPV will be more spacious than most of its competition. Although we will have to wait until next month to witness what Kia is bringing to the table. Seeing Kia’s recent success in India we can expect another exciting vehicle from the Korean manufacturer. Keep checking our website for more exciting updates on the upcoming cars.
