Kia Sonet was a new compact SUV Kia introduced in September 2020 and seeing the great run Sonet has been doing for the past year, Kia has decided to celebrate this achievement by bringing in an anniversary edition. The Kia Sonet HTX anniversary edition is expected to hit the markets soon.
Exterior and Design
According to information from a leaked brochure, the limited edition model of the Kia Sonet will be offered in four different colors schemes- Silver steal, Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl, GravityGrey. The car will be based on the HTX AE variant with a few aesthetic add ons to the current model offered by Kia.
The limited-edition features included in the anniversary edition are Aurochs front skid plate with Tangerine orange accents. Also, the front grille comes with minimal Tangerine Orange accents.
Interior and Tech
The interior of the Anniversary edition will be the same as the current HTX variant. Features like leather steering wheel and knob, keyless entry and go, rear center armrest, adjustable headrest for rear seats, sunroof, LED DRLs, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, projector fog lamps, and auto LED headlamps.
Engine and Transmission
The engine of the anniversary edition remains unchanged. The new Kia Sonet limited edition will offer the 1l turbo petrol engine and 1.5l diesel engines making 118 bhp and 172Nm of torque and 100bhp and 240Nm of torque respectively. The same engines are being provided in current HTX models by Kia. The anniversary edition brings in a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option, over the other options provided by Kia currently.
The anniversary edition of Kia Sonet is expected to be slightly expensive compared to the regular HTX variant. It is expected to be on sale till March 2022.
Kia Sonet is priced at Rs. 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom) will go against the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300.
