Kia Sportage SUV fifth generation Unveiled

Kia Sportage SUV

The all-new Kia Sportage SUV has been unveiled, and the fifth-generation model has been completely redesigned both inside and out. In the 28-year life cycle of the Sportage, Kia confirmed for the first time in September that it will be closely linked with a Europe-specific variant (except for the North American and ASEAN species). The new Kia Sportage is built on the same platform as the new Hyundai Tucson. It gets a new look and regional-specific versions to suit local tastes. Soft-touch switches and a curved digital display are among the many features.

It will be distinguished by a bespoke chassis tune and lightly revised styling, and it will be built exclusively in Slovakia.

The Sportage is the 2nd model to be developed under the new ‘Opposites United’ ideology of Kia, after a new Kia EV6. The Sportage and the new flagship electric car have a lot in common, such as the ‘boomerang’ headlights, the concave boot lid, the swollen rear arches, and the prominent spoiler. It was created in collaboration with Kia’s design centers in Korea, Germany, the United States, and China.

The Sportage is available for the first time with a contrasting roof, whereas the chrome straps is said to create cohesive lines with the rear spoilers that will add more to the car’s sporty pedigree.

The Sportage gets a curved digital display, a new touchscreen infotainment display, and a slew of soft-touch haptic switches on the gloss-finish center console. Kia claims to have used “the highest-quality components” throughout the Mk5 Sportage to make it “a specific place to spend time.”

Kia has not revealed any of the Sportage’s available powertrains, but it is expected to follow the closely related and recently updated Hyundai Tucson in receiving a range of mild-hybrid, full-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains based on a 1.6-litre petrol engine.

In India, Kia currently sells the Seltos, Sonet, and Carnival. In India, the company will also debut a brand-new MPV (Codename: KY) early next year.
