Kia has teased the 5th generation Sportage SUV before they reveal it in July. The SUV in its new avatar will follow Kia’s ‘opposites united’ design language and will be sportier than the outgoing model. Kia has been working on new products for its global lineup, the brand has already revealed the next-gen Carnival MPV, new K8 sedan and EV6 electric crossover. Now the company is getting ready to add another vehicle to its global lineup.

From the teased pics we can notice that the new Sportage SUV will retain its silhouette of the outgoing model but it gets sharper design changes which make it appear more muscular. It gets an entirely new front fascia with a new full-width black grille, slim LED light with boomerang-shaped DRL’s in the front and rear has a signature LED taillamp and, a roof-mounted spoiler which adds to the sportiness of the SUV.
The interior will feature a double screen setup that includes a TFT instrument cluster, wide touchscreen infotainment system, new steering wheel, redesigned AC vents. It receives other feature like the UVO connectivity suite, ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and more.
According to Kia’s senior vice president and head of global design centre, Karim Habib the new Sportage takes inspiration from an ethos, where nature meets technology. “ The new Kia Sportage challenges the norm with an adventurous and contemporary exterior and a carefully conceived, beautifully detailed interior “. He further added that the company has been focusing on the Sportage SUV to challenge themselves and pushing the car to a new level.
Kia has not commented on the full features the car will equip and they still not have confirmed details regarding the powertrain options. For the first time in 28 years, Kia Sportage will introduce market-specific variants. Kia has been making good sales with Seltos, Sonet and Carnival MPV.
