In January, Lamborghini confirmed that four new models are coming this year. One among them is the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica that was revealed yesterday for international markets. It replaces the Huracan Evo as the entry-level model in the lineup. It is the middle child of the Evo RWD and Evo STO. The latter is available in the Indian market for Rs. 4.99 crores. 

Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica Powertrain

This baby takes its powerplant out of the bonkers STO. So, you get a 5.2-litre V10 engine pushing out 631 hp and 701 Nm of torque. That’s just a little bit more than what you’ll find in the Evo RWD. It is all mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels.

The top speed is 325 kph and it can go from 0-100 kph in about 3.2 seconds. The Huracan Tecnica incorporates rear-wheel steering with a direct steering ratio and torque vectoring so you can get some of the sweet driver-induced oversteers. The braking is assured by carbon-ceramic brakes with fixed monoblock callipers with 6 pistons in front and 4 pistons in the rear.

Inside the supercar, you’ll find the new height-adjustable sport seats, a lightweight door design, a rear arch and wheel bolts in titanium, and harness seatbelts as an option. The redesigned driver interface is also exclusive to the new model. The driver’s instrument panel reduces colours and emphasizes readability when needed.

The centre console screen puts the drive elements at the disposal of buttons including track functions in the real-time display as well as connectivity functions like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. Inspired by the STO model, the new infotainment system included connected telemetry and onboard destinations and track times connected to the Unica app

Exterior

Lamborghini has really upped the aero game with a whole new underbody as well as a new wing. In terms of looks, there’s no doubt, it is a Lamborghini. The new design will up the downforce by 35% while at the same time reducing drag by 20% over the Evo RWD. In terms of design, there is a new front bumper, new headlights, redesigned side-window shape, and new 20-inch diamond-cut wheels.

The car is about 2.4 inches longer than the Evo RWD. At the back, you will notice a slanted carbon-fibre engine cover, a larger rear window, new hexagonal exhaust tips, a new bumper and rear diffuser, and a fixed rear spoiler. The rear design is like a geometry nerd’s dream come true. Those hexagonal exhaust tips look really lovely and fit the supercar’s attire. 

As for the price, we are not sure about it. Considering the Evo RWD is around $214,000 and the Evo STO is around $330,000, the Huracan Tecnica may go right in the middle. Expect it to launch later this year for the international market. It may rival the Ferrari 296 GTB, McLaren Artura and Porsche 911 GT3.
