Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has promised to gift ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra the company’s upcoming XUV700 as he becomes only the second Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympics.
“Yes indeed, it will be my personal privilege and honour to give our Golden Athlete an XUV700,” Mahindra said in response to a follower on Twitter who asked him to give Neeraj Chopra the upcoming XUV700.
He also tagged Mahindra Executive Director Rajesh Jejurikar and Mahindra CEO Automotive Division Veejay Nakra and asked them to “keep one ready for him please.” Pratap Bose, a designer who recently joined Mahindra from Tata Motors, hinted at the possibility of a similar project.

About The Mahindra XUV700
The XUV700 will essentially be a replacement for the current XUV500, but with a greater emphasis on technology and gadgets. Mahindra has already teased the XUV700’s AdrenoX informatics suite with Alexa Auto, multiple drive modes, panoramic sunroof, auto booster headlamps, personalized safety alerts, and other segment-first features.
The Mahindra XUV700 will be larger than the current XUV500 and will be far more luxurious and premium. The XUV700, like the XUV500, was designed to be a true three-row SUV.
The Mahindra XUV700 will be equipped with the most powerful petrol and diesel engines available in its class. The petrol engine will be a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit with 200 horsepower. The turbo-diesel engine will have a displacement of 2.2 litres and a power output of 185 horsepower. A 6-speed manual and a torque-converter automatic gearbox derived from Aisin will be available as options.

Mahindra is preparing to unveil the XUV700 in India next week, with a release date expected in the coming weeks. The Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar are all three-row SUVs that the XUV700 will compete with.
