Recently, Mahindra and Mahindra, India’s largest automaker by market share, introduced the new XUV700 5-seat SUV at a competitive price of 11.99 lakh rupees. The 7-seater version of the SUV will be available in September or early October of this year, according to the company. In addition to the Tata Harrier and MG Hector, the XUV700 will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq mid-models. A comparison between the Hyundai Creta and the five-passenger XUV700 has already been conducted. Mahindra XUV700 5-seater and Tata Harrier specifications are compared in this article.

MAHINDRA XUV700 5-SEAT vs TATA HARRIER PRICE

MAHINDRA XUV700 is priced 11.99 Lakh – 14.99 Lakh ex-showroom and Tata Harrier is priced 14.39 Lakh – 21.09 Lakh ex-showroom. Four engines are available for the 5-seater XUV700: MX Petrol, MX Diesel, AdrenoX Ax3 and AdrenoX Ax5. All six trim levels of Harrier are available in the U.S. Harrier is available in six trim levels: XE (basic), M (midrange), T (highrange), and Z (plus). Unlike the XUV700, which is available in both petrol and diesel versions, the Harrier is only offered in diesel. Prices for the Harrier diesel range from Rs 14.39 lakh up to Rs 21.09 lakh ex-showroom. In comparison to the Harrier, the base XUV700 is about 1.90 lakh less expensive. Next month, Mahindra will introduce a more powerful diesel version of the 7-seater SUV. In addition, the SUV will be offered with an automatic transmission.

FEATURES OF THE XUV700 AND THE HARRIER

Mahindra XUV700 comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument console, Android Auto, smart door handles, LED tail-lamps, a multi-function steering wheel, and 17-inch steel wheels as standard equipment. All variants come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument console, Amazon Alexa built-in, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and AndrenoX Connect with 60+ Connected features. They also come with 6-speakers and sound staging as well as LED DRLs and front fog lamps, and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels as standard. An optional panoramic sunroof and curtain airbags are also included in the AX5 trim along with sequential turn indicators and cornering lamps.

The Tata Harrier is equipped with many of the same features as the XUV700. A large panoramic sunroof, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a JBL sound system, a 6-way powered driver seat, auto-dimming IRVMs, a reverse camera, leather upholstery, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a powered tailgate, ambient lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, dual airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program),

Engine specifications of the two

The MAHINDRA XUV700 has 2.2-litre Engine. A Power of 155bhp/185bhp, 360Nm (MT) & 420Nm (MT),450Nm (AT) Torque, a Gearbox of 6-speed MT/6-speed AT/ AWD and  16.8 to 21.4 kmpl mileage. The Tata Harrier 2.0-litre Engine. A Power of 170bph, 350Nm Torque, a Gearbox of 6-speed MT /6-speed torque converter AT and 17kmpl mileage.

For its 5-seater version, the SUV comes equipped with an economical, powerful, and torquey 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 155bhp and 360Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox transmits power to the front wheels via a manual transmission. Next week, the 5-seater model will also get a more potent diesel engine with 185bhp, 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. One possibility is to add all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability to the lineup.

As an alternative, a 2.0-litre petrol turbocharged engine with 200PS and 380Nm torque is available. Additionally, a 6-speed manual transmission is available. An automatic version, on the other hand, will also be available. One 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine is available for the Tata Harrier, sourced from FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobile). This engine generates 170bhp and 350NM of torque, respectively. A six-speed manual transmission is available, as well as a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

VERDICT

As for the design, both SUVs have a sporty look and are loaded with high-end features. The XUV700, on the other hand, is more feature-rich and slightly larger than the Harrier from Tata Motors. On top of that, the 5-seater XUV700 XUV700 has a competitive price and is significantly less expensive than the Harrier. In just a few weeks, a more powerful version of the XUV700 could become the best-selling model in its class, according to analysts.
