Mahindra XUV700 GNCAP Crash test
The XUV700 has the highest combined safety score among Indian vehicles tested so far by GNCAP. With a combined safety score of 57.69 out of 66.0, Mahindra broke its previous safety record. The XUV700 will be India’s first full-size seven-seater SUV to receive a 5-star rating.
The GNCAP safety test for the XUV700 was conducted in Germany in October 2021. The car had to go through multiple stages of testing with the basic safety standard option. safety features included in the test vehicle were Dual front airbags, ABS or anti-lock brakes, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The XUV700 scored 16.03/17 for adult occupant protection and 41.66/49 for child occupant protection. The SUV is being praised for its effective protection to the driver’s and passenger’s neck, chest, head, and knees. The body shell and footwell area have been ranked as ‘stable’ and ‘capable of enduring further loadings’.

Under the hood, the XUV700 gets both petrol and diesel-powered motors. The 4-cylinder turbocharged, mStallion petrol unit can generate 200hp and 380Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine is available in 2 variants. The basic unit generates 155hp and 360Nm of torque while the Superior engine produces 185hp and 420Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual or automatic transmission can be paired to both engine types.
Safety features in the car include- seven airbags, auto high-beam assist, driver drowsiness detection, and booster headlights. Autonomous safety features like Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Forward collision warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Brakes(AEB), Lane Keep Assist, and Smart pilot Assist are available in the top-end models.
