Maruti has indicated its plans to launch the next-gen Celerio on November 10, 2021. Next-gen Celerio will be a facelifted version of the current Celerio. Multiple spy shots and spottings have revealed that the automaker has been extensively testing the car on Indian roads for a fair bit of time.
Next-gen Celerio Exterior updates
The facelift version of Celerio is expected to have tremendous changes to the exterior and interior styling of the vehicle. Celerio’s exterior styling has taken a shift from the old boxy design to a more curvilinear form. The spy shots suggest that the new Clerio will have bits that resemble the new swift, like the updated headlights and taillamps. It also comes with a few other exterior changes like a new grille, redesigned bumpers, updated door handles, and a new set of alloy wheels.

Maruthi has made major changes to the cabin as well. The facelift version will get an entirely different dashboard with new vents and a 7-inch infotainment system with an inbuilt apple car play and android auto. The steering wheel has been changed to a new three-spoke unit. Other changes include new upholstery options and a more spacious interior.
What changes under the hood?
Maruti will provide the users with two engine setups, a 1.2-litre petrol engine, and a 1.0-litre 3 cylinder K10C engine. Celerio is predicted to become the most fuel-efficient car in the Indian market. This has been made possible by the DualJet technology the manufacturer will be using in the K10C engine.
The DualJet system uses two fuel injectors per cylinder, allowing more precise control of the fuel. The engine also benefits from an improved gas recirculation system which increases overall fuel efficiency. These advancements will allow the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio to achieve a fuel efficiency of 26kmpl to become India’s most fuel-efficient hatchback.
Pricing
The current Maruti Celerio’s prices start from Rs. 4.65 lakh and goes up to Rs. 6.0 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), and the next-gen model is expected to be slightly more expensive. After the update, the Celerio will continue to compete with Tata Punch, Hyundai Santro and its siblings, Maruti WagonR and SPresso.
