Maruti Suzuki is probably one of the largest carmakers in the country by volume. As of February 2022, Maruti Suzuki has achieved cumulative sales of 164,056 units. The company’s YoY sales remained consistent last month compared to the 164,469 units sold during the exact same month last year.
Regardless of these numbers, the Indo-Japanese carmaker achieved an MoM growth of 6.2% in February 2022. The company stated that the insufficiency of electronic components remained to have put a minor dent in the production of cars. Those which are mainly sold in the domestic market.
Maruti Suzuki: Growth Report
With respect to the domestic market, last month Maruti Suzuki’s overall sales in the country, PV + LCV sales to other manufacturers, remained at 137,607 units. A major downfall of close to 7% in comparison to 147,483 units sold in the same month last year. From this, overall passenger vehicle sales for February 2022 remained at 133,948 units. A reduction of 7.4% compared to the units sold during February 2021. Along that timeline, the carmaker’s exports remained to be on a rise witnessing a greater growth which is two-fold. As of February 2022, the company’s sales from exports remained at 24,021 units. It had a YoY hike of 109% as compared to 11,486 cars exported in February 2021.
Last month, the company is also reported to have sold 9,190 units of the van-model Eeco. It is another in the string of downfalls with close to 23% in comparison to the 11,891 vehicles sold during February 2021. Over the last month, sales to other Original Equipment Manufacturers, primarily Toyota, remained at 2,428 units. There was a 56% decline in comparison to the 5,500 units which were sold in February of last year. The successful Super Carry light commercial vehicle’s sales reached up to 3,659 units. It had a hike of over 25% as compared to 2,722 units sold in February 2021.
