Maruti-Suzuki and Toyota are developing a new SUV which will be more inclined towards safety and connectivity. According to reports from ET Now, this new SUV is will be designed keeping in mind the 5-star NCAP crash test rating.

Estimated to be at a length of approximately 4.3 m, this new SUV will have the modular unibody automobile platform of Daihatsu New Global Architecture abbreviated as DNGA from Toyota. Further on the lines of manufacturing cost, it is not evident whether Toyota will be providing a rebadged version or they would work on designing the entire body framework of this new SUV from scratch. Hoping for the best of higher safety with its 1.4-liter booster jet petrol engine giving exceptional performance in their Swift Sport model with 127 bhp max power and 235 Nm of peak torque.

There is news that this new SUV would replace the ageing model of the Maruti-Suzuki S-cross. However, there is no concrete idea about the final looks- whether it would be a mid-sized SUV or based on the cross-over design language of the S-cross.
