Mercedes Benz India continues its AMG assault in the country with yet another high-performance launch. The GLE 63 S 4Matic + Coupe, is the 12th AMG model in India, costs Rs 2.07 crores (showroom, all of India) and features EQ Boost technology for the first time. 

Power & Engine features 

Power comes from the familiar 4.0-liter V8 engine, which in the 63 S makes 612 hp. and 850 Nm of torque. The SUV coupe can cross the 0-100 mark in just 3.8 seconds. Hold on tight and it will reach an electronically limited top speed of 280 km / h. Some of the magic comes from the 48-volt mild-hybrid EQ Boost system, with an optional starter and alternator in a single powerful electric motor built between the engine and transmission. The hybrid EQ Boost system delivers an additional 21 hp. plus 250 Nm of torque.

The GLE 63 S Coupe is AMG’s most premium vehicle with Active Driving Control suspension, featuring an active carbon fiber body kit and 22-inch AMG alloy wheels. The nine-speed AMG Speedshift transmission transfers power to all four wheels via variable torque distribution in the 4MATIC + system.

Exterior Design & Features

What sets the GLE 63 S Coupe apart from others is its unique appearance. The Pan-American radiator grille takes the lead, while the fascia is adorned with large air vents on the bumpers. The sloping roofline and square wheel arches add masculinity to the look, while the raised rear is adorned with sleeker tail lights. Inside, its typical AMG design with Nappa upholstery, new MBUX system, sports seats, high-quality aluminum accents and plenty of AMG badges.

Interior Design & Features

The interior of the GLE 63 S Coupe is very similar to the standard model. In fact, it will be very difficult to tell the difference. Both have the same dashboard layout, basically two 12.3-inch screens (for the instrument cluster and infotainment) and a raised center console with integrated handles.   

However, the interior differs in some AMG-specific elements from the standard GLE. It features an AMGspec three-spoke steering wheel, aluminum paddle shifters, AMG Nappa signature leather seats and numerous AMG badges throughout the interior. Mercedes also offers a range of interior trim parts to add even more personality to the interior. Customers can even opt for the optional AMG carbon fibre trim.
