In India, the MG Hector was introduced in 2019 and has since been the British brand’s best-selling model. To preserve Hector’s popularity, Morris Garages has updated the SUV with several additional features and comforts, including a CVT gearbox, since its launch.

In order to keep up with rivals like the Tata Harrier, the manufacturer has added a new model to the SUV’s lineup. The Shine is Hector’s mid-variant, and it comes with a slew of current amenities. However, soon after the release of this new variety, MG chose to discontinue Hector’s entry-level Super variant.

The compact SUV now starts with the Style trim level and progresses to the Sharp trim level. With this, the pricing of an MG Hector in India currently ranges from Rs. 13.5 lakh to 19.36 lakh (Ex-showroom).

Features of MG Hector

The current MG Hector entry-level trim (Style) has an integrated music system with four speakers, keyless entry, cooled glove box, rear AC vents, AC, four power windows with the remote down feature, electrically adjustable outside rearview mirror with turn indicators, steel wheels with wheel cap, electronic stability programme, dual front airbags, traction control system, hill-hoisting system, and hill-hoisting system.

In the petrol version, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A dual-clutch automatic or a CVT is available to buyers who want an automatic transmission. A mild hybrid system is only made available in the manual transmission variant. It produces 142 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit with a six-speed manual transmission. This engine generates 169 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.

LED headlights, LED taillights, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, keyless entry, and a rearview camera were among the amenities available on the Supermodel.

MG recently showcased its new SUV, the Astor. It is the petrol variant of the ZS EV that is expected to be launched in the upcoming festive season. When launched it will take on the VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos and the market leader Hyundai Creta.
