What we know about the upcoming EV hatchback

MG Motors EVA picture of a camouflaged test mule of the upcoming hatchback from MG has been revealed on the Chinese social media channel. According to reports from Chinese media, MG will showcase the concept at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show in April.

The prototype looks similar in styling to the automaker’s recent Cyberster roadster concept. The model also has a similar shoulder line to the MG ZS. Not many design details were available as the car was heavily camouflaged.

However, the new MG will be shorter than the ZS, which has a length of 4,314mm. This new model could also be a replacement for the MG 3. The MG 3 is a hatchback that comes in both electric and combustion powertrains and is made in MG’s Nanjing plant in China.

MG Motor: future in India

MG has huge plans for the Indian market. The ZS EV and Astor have been a huge success in India. Moreover, the automaker plans to bring a new facelift edition of the ZS EV to the Indian Market. We expect to see the launch sometime soon this month. This Facelift will feature an upgraded battery pack that can provide better power and range when compared to the current model.

Also, MG is working on another EV for its India lineup. This will be a crossover that the company will place under the ZS EV. Furthermore, this new model will come at an affordable price range of ₹10 lakh-15 lakh.

MG also mentioned that the upcoming EV will be tailor-made for Indian customers and locally assembled in the country.
