MG has unveiled the 2022 MG ZS EV facelift which will see its India launch in the near future. The facelift that comes to the Indian market is similar to the global variant but with slight changes made to the front fascia and alloy wheels.

The upcoming model might also come with an updated colour palette. MG has started accepting bookings for the new ZS EV. Moreover, current bookings also might get upgraded to the new facelift variant according to availability. 

MG ZS EV Facelift: Exterior styling

The upcoming MG ZS EV facelift gets a refreshed design styling creating futuristic EV aesthetics. At the front, the sleek headlamps come with LED daytime running lamps. The front bumper gets a slight update along with the closed front grille. The charging port has been repositioned next to the MG logo from behind it.

Moreover, the upcoming MG ZS facelift will come along with a few new colour variants. other exterior updates include new LED tail-lamps and a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels.

MG ZS EV Facelift: Interior and tech

MG has not revealed any details on the cabin details of the upcoming ZS facelift. However, the spy shots hint that the dashboard will remain the same as the outgoing model. Moreover, most of the technical features will be similar to the MG Astor. The ZS EV will get a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, high-end models will come with carbon fibre trims around the system. The BEV also gets its climate control buttons from the Astor. 

Safety features include a new ADAS functionality and 360-degree camera – this will be similar to the front camera below the MG logo on the Astor. Moreover, the ADAS system will also be a similar setup as seen in the Astor. 

MG ZS EV Facelift: Powertrain

The upcoming MG ZS facelift might feature a bigger and better battery pack. Moreover, the new 51kWh battery pack. The 44.5kWh pack from the previous-gen model can provide a range of 419km in a single charge. Although MG has not made any official announcements, we believe that the new battery pack can top the 480km range. Furthermore, The outgoing version can generate a power output of 143hp and 353Nm. We will have to wait to know about the drivetrain setup and power output of the upcoming model.

Pricing and Competition

The outgoing model comes at a base price of ₹21.49 lakh and goes north to ₹25.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The upcoming model could cost more considering the updated features and battery pack. The MG ZS EV Facelift will rival the likes of other EVs like Tata Nexon EV and Hyundai Kona.
