New 2022 Toyota Glanza Teased

2022 Toyota Glanza

Toyota India has teased the new facelifted 2022 Toyota Glanza. The premium hatchback will be a rebadged version of the new 2022 Baleno and will get similar exterior and interior styling. However, Toyota has made slight changes to distinguish both vehicles. Moreover, the new Glanza will be available for a starting price of Rs. 7.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).

More about 2022 Toyota Glanza

We expect the new 2022 Glanza to feature the same 1.2-litre gasoline engine under the hood. This motor will come in integration with a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission system. Furthermore, the Glanza can generate a total power output of 89 bhp and 113 Nm of torque.

The new Glanza gets similar design elements as the Corolla Altis and Camry. The hatchback comes with a huge air dam and a blacked-out lip below it. There are C-shaped chrome trims on the sides of each fog lamp. The front grille and the alloy wheels too have received significant design changes to keep the vehicle distinct from Maruti Suzuki’s Baleno.

Inside the cabin, the 2022 Glanza gets the same 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system by SmartPlay. The car could also come with the same Arkamys surround sound system used in the Baleno. The Glanza features gloss black trim pieces on the dashboard and steering wheel, instead of the silver ones seen on Baleno.

We are still waiting on detailed information regarding tech features including the popular head-up display (HUD) and a 360-degree camera the Baleno gets. Since Toyota is known for providing the customer with premium features, we can expect the Glanza to come with similar or even more interior and tech features.

Safety features in the Glanza will include stability control (ESC), curtain airbags, hill hold assist, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, and ABS.

1. Do Baleno and Glanza use the same engines?

No. The Baleno gets Suzuki’s 1.2L K Series engine, while the Glanza features a 1.2L VVT engine.

2. What is the safety rating of Toyota Glanza?

The current version has a GNCAP safety rating of 4 stars for adult occupant safety and 3 stars for child occupant safety.
